                            U.S. Marines with Marine Barracks Washington participate in the opening ceremony and 50th Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C., Oct. 25–26, 2025. The opening ceremony featured a three-mile motivational run, performances by the U.S. Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon and Drum & Bugle Corps, and remarks from Lt. Gen. Jerry Carter, deputy commandant for information. The following day, thousands of service members, veterans, and civilians took part in the marathon, honoring the 250th birthday of the United States Marine Corps and celebrating endurance, community, and pride.
