Torchbearers carried the Paris 2024 Olympic Flame through Sainte Mére Église, Normandy, France, May 31, 2024, as part of the Relais de La Flamme. The Paris 2024 Olympic torch bearing ceremonies lead up to the 80th anniversary of D-Day. These commemorative events honor the sacrifices of U.S. service members who fought during World War II 80 years ago.

The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army's Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the United States European, African, and Central Command areas of responsibility. Forward deployed across Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside NATO allies and partners to build partnerships and strengthen the alliance.
