U.S. Airmen and French soldiers landed an Airbus A400M Atlas on fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) panels for the first time in Grostenquin, France, March 28 to April 2, 2024. The panels were used to repair craters on an abandoned NATO airfield during Exercise Razorback, which was held from March 20 to April 5. U.S. Amn Gabriel Mariano, 52nd Civil Engineer Squadron shared his thoughts about the exercise. U.S. Lt. Col. Kevin Toll, U.S. Air Forces in Europe - U.S. Air Forces Africa Pavements Engineer, said the exercise was an opportunity to strength their capability to support agile combat employment concepts. French Col. Yves-Marie Jacquot, 25th Air Engineer Regiment Commander, explains that this was a first critical step in their partnership in airfield repair.
