U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) receive instruction from Brazilian army instructors on jungle survival methods prior to Exercise Southern Vanguard in Belem, Brazil, Nov. 2, 2023. Southern Vanguard 24, an annual bilateral exercise which rotates between partner nations in the U.S. Southern Command area of responsibility, and is designed to enhance partner interoperability between the U.S. and partner nation forces.
