The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Pittsburgh District had an unprecedented fiscal year in 2023, in which it accomplished a tremendous amount of work for the region and the nation. The district welcomed a new commander, Col. Nicholas Melin, and a new deputy district engineer, Brian Trzaska, while hiring 87 new employees who brought their skills and talents to an already talented group of people.
