U.S. Service Members, Japanese Self Defense Force representatives, politicians and Ishigaki residents gather for a Memorial honoring three fallen U.S. Navy Sailors, April 15, 2023, Ishigaki Island, Okinawa, Japan. The three Sailors were captured and killed on Ishigaki near the end of World War II, and the memorial was developed by the people of Ishigaki and U.S. Service Members as a symbol of peace and friendship.
