U.S. Marine Corps Col. Nicole Mann, Space X Crew 5 Mission Commander, leads a group of scientists aboard spacecraft Dragon Endurance on a six-month mission to the International Space Station, October 5, 2022. This will be Mann's first space flight since becoming an astronaut in 2013, she is also the first Marine woman to join the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and become mission commander of Space X Crew 5. As mission commander she will be responsible all phases of flight, from launch to re-entry. She will serve as Expedition 68 flight engineer aboard the station.
