Narration:
Nearly 20 people from Camp Zama recently joined an Army Community Service tour of the Zama City Sunflower Festival, held over four days at the nearby Sagami River. At the site, visitors could view the thousands of sunflowers planted at 13 different areas.
Some visitors spent their time taking photos of the flowers or posing for selfies in front of them, while others just enjoyed the scenery.

Hopefully the people who come to the Sunflower Festival are able to gain an appreciation for Zama City’s rich, natural environment. I also hope they can feel a sense of connectedness and friendship with the local people who are supporting this event.
There are also unique items on display, such as swings and an “Anywhere Door” from a popular Japanese animation, that you can find here and which were handmade by our staff. Hopefully, visitors can enjoy the festival along with those attractions.
Narration:
This year marked the first time the Zama City Sunflower Festival has been held since 2019.
