The 2nd Battalion, 7th U.S. Cavalry Regiment, Bravo Company, bonds with the Afghan guests during their last weeks of supporting the mission Operation Allies Welcome at Camp Atterbury, Ind., Oct. 21, 2021. The unit has helped the guests adapt to American life and become friends with many of the guests here. This initiative provides essential support at secure locations outside of Afghanistan. The Department of Defense, through U.S. Northern Command, and in support of the Department of Homeland Security, is providing transportation, temporary housing, medical screening, and general support for at least 50,000 Afghan evacuees at suitable facilities in permanent or temporary structures as quickly as possible.
