U.S. Army veterans Daniel Messina and Sarah Ronsani complete a memorial stair climb to honor victims of 9/11 at York Suburban High School in York, Pennsylvania, Sept. 11, 2021. Messina is a firefighter with the City of York Department of Fire and Rescue Services, who co-hosted the event with York Area United Fire and Rescue to mark the 20th anniversary of the attacks. The engaged couple both grew up in New York and said the events of that day inspired them to serve in the military.
