U.S. Ambassador to the Co-operative Republic of Guyana Sarah-Ann Lynch visited participants of Exercise Tradewinds 2021 at Camp Stephenson, Guyana, on June 18th. Ambassador Lynch arrived on a U.S. Blackhawk helicopter piloted by the Florida Army National Guard's B. Co. 1-185th Assault Helicopter Battalion and attended a basic rifle marksmanship training event. At the event, members of the U.S. Army 7th Special Forces Group and 2-54 Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB) were demonstrating proper shooting technique and fundamentals to members of the Guyana Defense Force. Tradewinds 2021 is a U.S. Southern Command sponsored Caribbean security-focused exercise in the ground, air, sea, and cyber domains, working with partner nations to conduct joint, combined and interagency training, focused on increasing regional cooperation and stability.
