A C-17 Globemaster III assigned to the 144th Airlift Squadron, Alaska Air National Guard, performs aerial refueling from a KC-135 Stratotanker assigned to the 168th Wing, AKANG, over Alaska, June 15, 2021. The 144th AS regularly performs the maneuver to maintain pilot proficiency and readiness. The Statotanker was flying in support of RED FLAG-Alaska 21-2, a Pacific Air Forces-sponsored exercise designed to provide realistic training in a simulated combat environment.
