The Air Force Civil Engineer Center is partnering with the Auburn University Engineering Department to conduct extensive real-world research aimed at ensuring Airmen safety in temporary structures around the world. Safety is #1 in any environment, but if much-needed temporary structures were only built “big and stout,” they would not be economical, portable and quickly set. Here's how the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center experts are working to find the sweet-spot where structural stability, cost-efficiency, and portability all meet.
