On Tuesday, Airmen of the 127th Wing conducted the first-ever "Hot Pit" refuel of a KC-135 Stratotanker at Selfridge Air National Guard Base. A "Hot Pit" is accomplished by running a plane's engine during short stop-overs for fuel, which allows for a faster start-up of the planes other engine, thus saving time on take-off.
