Emily Fillmore, 47th Medical Group bio environmental engineering deputy flight commander, details her journey transitioning from a bio officer to student pilot which took perseverance, mentorship and guidance from 47th Flying Training Wing leadership. Post photorefractive keratectomy surgery, Fillmore began her process to become a student pilot with the help and support of Col. Carey Jones, 47 FTW vice commander.
