Joint Base San Antonio and 502nd Air Base Wing Command Chief Master Sgt. Wendell Snider
kicks off Black History Month by sharing his experience as a Black Airman and Marine.
"The time is now. I don't think we can miss this opportunity to look at the processes that we have in place and find ways to continue to improve."
Black History Month is held throughout February and members of Joint Base San Antonio are encouraged to celebrate. African American/Black History Month was established by Public Law 99-244 and can trace its origins back to 1915 when historian and author Dr. Carter G. Woodson founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History. This organization is now known as the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, or ASALH.
