Family, permanent staff, and students with The Basic School gather for a performance by the Quantico Marine Band and the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon, Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., Oct. 2, 2020.
The Silent Drill Platoon, activated 72 years ago, performs unique silent precision exhibition drill to exemplify the discipline and professionalism of the Marine Corps. Once the members of the Silent Drill Platoon are selected, they begin training in Washington D.C., and continue to train at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Ariz., where they perfect their performance year around.
