Beale Air Force Base interviewed three local prisoners of war in honor of National POW/MIA Recognition Day on September 18, 2020.
For the first video in this three-part series, 1SG Obie Wickersham shares his story as a POW during the Korean War. Wickersham, a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, fought in numerous bloody battles during World War II. Once the war concluded, he proceeded to join the U.S. Army Reserve, where he served in the 38th Infantry Regiment until being captured during the Korean War.
