Brig. Gen. Richard R. Neely, Adjutant General of the Illinois National Guard, along with Polish Maj. Gen. Cezary Wisniewski, Defense Attaché from the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, took part in several remembrance and commemoration events across Chicagoland in honor of the Polish Armed Forces Day, August 16, 2020.
The National Guard's State Partnership Program has allowed for Poland and the Illinois National Guard to build a strong military relationship for more than 25 years.
