Today, the first of many new combat readiness training facilities on Fort Wainwright opened up for Soldier use.

U.S. Army Alaska Commander Maj. Gen. Peter Andrysiak, U.S. Army Garrison Alaska Commander Col. Christopher Ruga and 402nd AFSB Commander Lt. Col. LuzHilda Restrepo cut the ribbon, opening the Combat Readiness Training Facility.

The CRTF is one of the first Quality of Life facilities completed and the first of two such CRTFs. The structure is also being purpose-built for eight warm maintenance facilities as part of the QOL effort for Fort Wainwright Soldiers.
