Take a look into the Jungle Operations Training Course (JOTC) held at Lighting Academy, East Range Training Complex, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Surviving JOTC is a 12-day docuseries capturing the day to day operations of what students endure while enrolled during this two week course. For Day 3, students must successfully execute land navigation and learn a series of jungle battle drills that prepare them for week two of JOTC. (U.S. Army video by Sgt. Valencia McNeal/ 28th Public Affairs Detachment)
JOTC is a 12 day program where students focus on jungle mobility training, waterborne operations, combat tracking, jungle tactics, survival training and situational training exercises at the squad level. Graduates of JOTC learn tactics, techniques, and procedures required to fight, win, and survive within any tropical jungle environment. The course consists of two weeks of training following the crawl, walk, run methodology embedded within each activity as well as the overall training path.
