Nationwide protests following the death of George Floyd renewed the urgency for open conversations on tough topics like race to create awareness, build trust, and ensure we maximize our diversity to achieve true equity and inclusion. We are a values-based institution. Discrimination has no place in our Army. The Values of Leadership, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage cannot just be words – we must put them into action every day and hold each other accountable to living them. “Leadership Is A Contact Sport; it requires daily interaction." Diversity and Inclusion must be infused into our training and development programs in our units and leader development programs at every level.
