Paratroopers from 1st Squadron, 91st Cavalry Regiment (Airborne) conducted an intense dismounted reconnaissance training exercise in Grafenwoehr Training Area. The exercise tested these Sky Soldiers' skills in their primary mission of reconnaissance operations for the brigade while integrating fires, electronic warfare and UAS, all executed under rigorous COVID-19 mitigation measures in a field environment.
The 173rd Airborne Brigade is the U.S. Army’s Contingency Response Force in Europe, providing rapidly deployable forces to the United States Europe, Africa and Central Commands areas of responsibilities. Forward deployed across Italy and Germany, the brigade routinely trains alongside NATO allies and partners to build partnerships and strengthen the alliance.
