Army National Guard Sgt. Marisa Gulioso, a healthcare specialist with Niantic Army National Guard Medical Detachment, gives a shout-out to her university professors and mother in Wethersfield, Conn., while augmented to Stamford Health-Bennett Medical Center, Stamford, Conn., April 23, 2020. Sgt. Gulioso and her team are working with Urban Augmentation Medical Task Force 811-1 and hospital staff to aid in the efforts to increase the care capacity and treatment ability of COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 patients, alleviating civilian providers from having to manage lower priority patients. This task force employs unique, expeditionary capabilities provided by U.S. Northern Command to support FEMA as part of a whole-of-nation response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
