SANTA RITA, Guam (April 18, 2020) One year ago, Commander, Submarine Squadron 15 dedicated its headquarters building in honor of Vice Admiral (ret.) Al Konetzni. In the last year, hundreds of submarine Sailors have passed through the doors of Konetzni Hall and continued his legacy of a forward-deployed submarine force. This video tells of the legend "Big Al, the Sailor's Pal" and the initiatives he designed to create what is now known as the modern-day submarine force. CSS-15 is responsible for providing training, material, and personnel readiness support to four Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine commands located on Polaris Point at Naval Base Guam.
