Mississippi National Guard Soldiers and North River K9 conducted realistic urban search and rescue operations at the Guardian Centers near Perry, Georgia, Feb. 27-29, as part of Patriot South 20. The K9 hoist operations gave the trainers and dogs a realistic scenario for air operations. This is the first K9 hoist led by the MSNG Lakota (UH-72) flight crew. Patriot20, led by the MSNG's 66th Troop Command, trains with state and federal partners throughout the year in order to ensure a successful, practiced response to any disaster.
