Conduct Buddy Assist Active Victim
- Identify the active victim that is struggling at the surface in a vertical position unable to make forward progress or tread water.
- Enter the water with a waterproof pack.
- Bear hug pack to chest and use a stride or slide in entry.
- Swim to the victim.
- Present the pack to the victim.
- Tell the victim to grab the pack with both hands and do not release.
- Assist the victim to safety. Ask the victim to help kick.
- Exit the water.
