At the Port of Beaumont, Texas, 842nd Transportation Battalion executes operations in support of the force projection exercise DEFENDER-Europe 20.

SDDC units, such as the 842nd Transportation Battalion, practice fort-to-port and port-to-port tasks to rapidly load seagoing vessels to sail combat power to foreign ports of debarkation.
The Port of Beaumont is an intermodal transportation facility that is served by three class-one rail carriers, located within 2 miles of Interstate 10, and is situated on a deep-water channel with a 40 foot draft. It is the 5th largest port in the U.S. in terms of tonnage.
The 842nd Transportation Battalion, based at the port, deploys and conducts surface deployment/redeployment, distribution and water terminal operations to support and sustain the Warfighter.
