U.S. Marine Corps Master Sgt. Bryan Housel and Navy Ensign Joshua Scherrer speak on their Marines and Sailors participating in exercise Northern Viper under the Logistics Combat Element. Marines and Sailors assigned to the LCE train in austere environments to prepare for all weather conditions. Northern Viper is a regularly scheduled training exercise that is designed to enhance the interoperability of the U.S. and Japan Alliance by allowing Marine Air-Ground Task Forces from III Marine Expeditionary Force to maintain their lethality and proficiency in MAGTF Combined Arms Operations in cold weather environments. Housel, a native of Lakewood, Colorado, is the operations chief for Combat Logistics Battalion 4, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group.
