The 1st Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade was activated February 15, 2007. 1st Sustainment was formed from Division Support Command, which has a long history of excellence dating back to World War I. The sustainment brigade provides mission command for combat support and combat support services. Since its establishment as a brigade, the 1st Sustainment Brigade has supported multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
