Four scholars from the Newport Arctic Scholars Initiative sit down to talk about the Newport Arctic Seminar that took place from Jan. 22-24 at the U.S. Naval War College. The three-day seminar focused on discussing the limitations, opportunities and future of regional forums and organizations for Arctic security. It also explored advantages and disadvantages of Arctic regional security, official and unofficial reasons to intervene, political-military issues and how nations can strengthen their navies to maintain open channels of communication, prevent and manage conflict and enhance maritime security cooperation in the Arctic.
