The U.S. Naval War College hosted the third annual Cardines Classic, a World War I-era Army/Navy baseball game Sept. 13 at Cardines Field, in Newport, Rhode Island. The program was organized in close collaboration with Naval History and Heritage Command and the City of Newport. U.S. Naval War College students wore World War I-era replica baseball uniforms, in tribute to the role of baseball as a unifier during the Great War.
