Service members from the Philippines, Japan and the United States conducted exercise KAMANDAG 3 from Oct. 9-Oct. 18, 2019, in the various places throughout the Philippines. The specific objectives of KAMANDAG, such as mutual defense, counterterrorism and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, promote realistic training that supports regional security. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase “Kaagapay Ng Mga Manirigma Ng Dagat,” which translates to “Cooperation of the Warriors of the Sea,” highlighting the partnership between the U.S. and Philippine militaries.
