Michigan National Guard's 1-119 Field Artillery conducted a direct fire mission at Camp Grayling, Mich. September 18, 2019. During direct fire missions, the barrel is aimed lower and field artillery teams are able to see for themselves, without the aid of forward observers, the destruction caused by their work. Later the same day the unit field tested its precision guided kit for the first time, helping to ensure the M777 howitzer's 155mm rounds successfully find the target. (Video by Capt. Joe Legros)
