Marines with Golf Company, Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, execute combat launch and recovery rehearsals aboard the dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48), underway in the Coral Sea, July 18, 2019. Ashland, part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group, with embarked 31st MEU, is currently participating in Talisman Sabre 2019 off the coast of Northern Australia. A bilateral, biennial event, Talisman Sabre is designed to improve U.S. and Australian combat training, readiness and interoperability through realistic, relevant training necessary to maintain regional security, peace and stability.
