Soldiers and Airmen of the Arkansas National Guard compete in the annual “TAG Match” held at the Robinson Maneuver Training Center near North Little Rock, Arkansas, Aug. 9.
The primary purpose of these competitions is the development of combat skills in order to improve proficiency above basic marksmanship requirements and increase battlefield survivability.
Soldiers and Airmen used their military-issued M-4, M-16 series rifles and M-9 pistol. Shooting positions included prone supported and unsupported, sitting, kneeling, standing and improvised. Ranges varied in length from 10 meters to 400 meters.
