Soldiers from the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit's Service Rifle Team competed in the 10-Man Team Match today at the 2019 Interservice Rifle Championships in Quantico, Virginia.
Servicemembers from the Marine Corps, Navy, Army National Guard and Army Reserve were all represented on the firing line, vying for the top team spot.
The course of fire for this match included four stages. Stage 1: 10 slow-fire, standing shots at 200 yards. (One minute per shot, two shooters per firing point who fire alternately at the same target. Total team time of 66 minutes.) Stage 2: 10 rapid-fire, sitting from standing shots at 200 yards with a time limit of 60 seconds. (Each team will occupy two firing points and fire on two targets.) Stage 3: 10 rapid-fire prone from standing shots at 300 yards with a time limit of 70 seconds. Each team will occupy two firing points and fire on two targets.) Stage 4: 20 slow-fire prone shots at 600 yards. (One minute per shot. Two shooters at one firing point, firing alternately at one target. Total team time of 126 minutes.)
The USAMU team came out on top with a score of 4910 - 207X.
