The Warrior Refractive Eye Surgery Program at Winn Army Community Hospital offers many different ocular surgical procedures designed to ensure vision readiness by reducing dependency on prescription eye wear.
The WRESP utilizes doctors with specialized training in diseases and surgery of the eye. Photojournalist Zach Rehnstrom joined U.S. Army MEDDAC –Fort Gordon, Eisenhower Army Medical Center Surgical Services, Deputy Commander, Col. Thomas Lovas during a Photo Refractive Keratectomy procedure on Brig. Gen. Neil Hersey, commandant at the U.S. Army Cyber Warfare School, and gives us a detailed look at how the WRESP builds combat effectiveness while increasing readiness.
