Over 40 civil engineers from the 128th Air Refueling Wing, Wisconsin Air National Guard, deployed to central Mississippi as part of the Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) program. IRT is a Department of Defense military training opportunity, exclusive to the United States and its territories, that delivers joint training opportunities to increase deployment readiness. Simultaneously, IRT provides key services with lasting benefits for our American communities. The beneficiary of their hard work is Camp Kamassa, a place for children and adults with illnesses or disabilities to enjoy the benefits of the camp experience. The camp will have a state-of-the-art infirmary with sleeping areas for nurses and doctors, treatment rooms, and safe places to store medical supplies. During the IRT, 128th Airmen cleared the land and added water, sewer, and electrical components to the infrastructure. They also buildt roads and assisted in the construction of 8 cabins.
