TULSA, Okla. – U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District dams are functioning as intended during the spring 2019 flood event in Oklahoma and Kansas. The district is working around the clock to maintain the flood pools at the same percentages throughout its system of dams by either storing or releasing water in conjunction with each other in accordance with the district’s water control manuals.
Rain came and went June 3 at Eufaula Lake, Oklahoma, on the Canadian River, as seen here. Tulsa District engineers and hydrologists continue to monitor dams to ensure they operate as intended and will provide updates as the situation changes to ensure public safety.
