Firefighters from the 45th Space Wing were trained by instructors from the Louis F. Garland Department of Defense Fire Academy of Goodfellow Air Force Base, Tex., for several weeks in May of 2019 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Fla. The firefighters were certified on high angle, low angle and confined space rescue operations; as well as how to operate specialized rescue equipment.
