U.S. Air Force Gen. David L. Goldfein, Chief of Staff of the Air Force, and Dawn Goldfein, spouse of the CSAF, speak at the Jolly Green Association 50th Reunion at The Island by Hotel RL, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, May 4, 2019. Goldfein spoke about his recovery by Airmen flying an HH-3E Sikorsky helicopter, nicknamed the “Jolly Green Giant”, after his F-16 Flying Falcon was shot down over Serbia on May 2, 1999. The JGA presented Airmen from the 41st Rescue Squadron, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, and the 48th Rescue Squadron, Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona, with the Rescue Mission of the Year award.
