PURPOSE: 3D Medical Applications Center: Vat Photopolymerization, is one of a five part series designed to showcase every three-dimensional printing technology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. The other four additive manufacturing printers in the series are Material Jetting, Binder Jetting, Material Extrusion and Powder Bed Fusion.
The Vat Photopolymerization printing process uses various polymers to create solid, plastic, three-dimensional objects from medical scans or 3D designs, in a matter of hours to days.
