PURPOSE: 3D Medical Applications Center: Powder Bed Fusion, is one of a five part series designed to showcase every three-dimensional printing technology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. The other four additive manufacturing printers in the series are Vat Photopolymerization, Material Jetting, Binder Jetting and Material Extrusion.
The Powder Bed Fusion printing process manufactures three-dimensional objects by melting metal alloys at temperatures that can reach up to 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit.
