Soldiers from the 5th Battalion 20th Regiment 1-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 7th Infantry Division arrive in Palau to conduct unilateral training April 13, 2019. This is the first large exercise of this kind since 1982. This exercise is to honor commitment to the nation of Palau's security according to our Compact of Free Association agreement which was signed into law November 13, 1986. Exercise Palau is part of Pacific Pathways, an annual U.S. Army Pacific (USARPAC) operation, demonstrating the U.S. Army’s commitment to the Palau nation, security cooperation for a free and open Indo-Pacific.
