U.S. Army Capt. Lance Peterson of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Omaha Districts' Rapid Response team explains his role during the demobilization of the two meg- generators at the Palo Seco Power Plant in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The Unified Command Group (UCG), which is comprised of senior representatives from FEMA, USACE, and PREPA, made the decision to cease operation of the temporary power generation units at the Palo Seco site incrementally, March 8, 2019, and decommission the two temporary mega-generators at the Palo Seco site. The demobilization of the mega-generators is a positive step in the ongoing recovery process in Puerto Rico.
