Medal of Honor Recipient retired U.S. Army Lt. Col. Charles Kettles died January 21, 2019. Kettles, who hailed from Ypsilanti, Michigan, received the Medal of Honor on July 18, 2016, nearly 50 years after his actions while serving as a flight commander assigned to 176th Aviation Company, 14th Combat Aviation Battalion, Americal Division.
