Non Commissioned Officers are known as the backbone of the U.S. Army. Their role is as troop leaders is unmistakable in the high op-tempo training required to maintain readiness and lethality amidst the military's mission around the globe. During Atlantic Resolve in Europe NCO's from the 91st Brigade Engineer Battalion, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division had a chance to study Napoleon's Campaigns in Germany back in 1806. Command Sergeant Major Dan Castleberry explains, the purpose of such an excursion and believes the lessons from then can certainly be transferred to today.
