Vice Adm. Forrest Faison, Surgeon General of the Navy, is a graduate of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU), class of 1984. He recalls some of the many lessons he learned during USU's annual two-week field exercise, Operation Bushmaster, while he was a medical student at USU, and how those lessons have stuck with him over the years.
