U.S. Marines assigned to Marine Corps Installations Pacific, Marine Corps Base Smedley D. Butler complete their Marine Corps Martial Arts Program culminating event Dec. 14, 2018 on Torii Station, Okinawa, Japan. The Marines completed the culminating event as part of their curriculum in attaining a higher level Marine Corps Martial Arts belt. MCMAP emphasizes the complete development of a professional warrior, and is a key component of the ethical warrior concept. MCMAP is designed to improve the warfighting capabilities of individual Marines and units, enhance Marines' self-confidence and esprit de corps, and foster the warrior ethos of the Corps.
